The Opportunity

Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain, the Inventory Analyst will play a critical role in optimizing inventory management practices to ensure customer satisfaction, efficient operations, and overall profitability.

Collaborating closely with the procurement, manufacturing, sales, finance, and warehouse teams, your insights, analysis, and recommendations will directly impact inventory controls, cost management, and overall business performance.

To be successful in the role, the Inventory Analyst must be highly detail oriented, possess strong data analysis skills, and a desire to translate insights into actionable changes.


In this role you will:


  • Drive and develop standard reporting supporting monthly inventory health analysis and reviews.
  • Support inventory reporting requirements for the Integrated Business Planning process.
  • Produce and maintain projected inventory reports to forecast future inventory positions.
  • Analyze actual realized inventory versus previous projections to bridge difference and identify opportunities to improve projection accuracy.
  • Analyze targeted safety stock levels and out of stock conditions, recommending changes when necessary, and monitor performance against those targets.
  • Monitor excess inventory. Identify inventory risks and opportunities, and partner with internal teams to quantify, develop and track plans to address them.
  • Review inventory positioning within our distribution network to ensure the right product is available in the right place to maximize fill rates and minimize overall freight and carrying costs. Recommend changes as necessary.
  • Collect and analyze point of sale data from key customers to identify trends that will inform inventory policies and forecasting decisions.
  • Facilitate the inventory disposal process.
  • Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to inventory management processes, systems, and policies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and maximize productivity.
  • Perform ad hoc inventory analyses as required.
  • All other duties as assigned.
What You Need

  • Postsecondary education in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Inventory Analyst or Planner in a retail, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools including Excel and Power BI.
  • Advanced knowledge of inventory management principles, demand forecasting, and supply management.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and ERP systems. SAP experience considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fastpaced, dynamic environment.
  • Detailoriented with strong organizational and problemsolving abilities.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in inventory management.
