    Situated in the heart of downtown Vancouver, The Sutton Place Hotel Vancouver has over 560 guest rooms and suites, approximately 15,000 sq.

    of meeting/event space, and its spectacular setting allows guests to experience exceptional service with first-class amenities, from a personal concierge to a signature restaurant Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar, complete beauty center at Vida Spa and Wine Merchant.

    Responsible for the overall management and operations and supervision of staff of the Engineering Department in partnership with the Engineering Manager.

    Hires, trains, counsels, and performance reviews.
    Maintains and controls fire alarm systems.
    Performs fire evacuation drills as dictated by the National Fire Code of Canada.
    Prepares schedules, payroll, capital, and operating budget.

    Must have extensive knowledge of HVAC, building trades, mechanical-electrical equipment such as: refrigeration, kitchen equipment, laundry, plumbing, carpentry, etc.

    Must also have the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and operational problems, counsel, train and direct staff; set priorities, meet deadlines, work under pressure and communicate verbally and in writing.

    Background should include HVAC, Building Trades, Preventive Maintenance and Energy Conservation, or a combination of technical education and experience that provides the skills required for this position.

    You must be legally entitled to work in Canada to apply as the employer does not have a Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) that would support a foreign worker.
