    Description

    Job Overview:

    Barr is in search of an experienced senior-level geochemist to join their expanding geochemical team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in providing technical expertise and project leadership within the geochemistry field.

    • Lead geochemical assessments and manage data collection programs
    • Develop scopes of work, schedules, and budgets for projects
    • Contribute to technical reports and documentation
    • Mentor staff and liaise with clients and regulatory agencies
    • Engage in business development activities to maintain client relationships and drive project opportunities

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Master's degree in geochemistry or related field
    • 10+ years of practical experience in geochemistry
    • Expertise in low-temperature systems, environmental geochemistry, and mineral solubility
    • Experience in developing and interpreting geochemical models
    • Knowledge of mineralogical characterization methods and field testing
    • Familiarity with mineral exploration and environmental regulations
    • Strong communication and project management skills

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • PhD in geochemistry or related field
    • Experience in geostatistical analysis and economic geology
    • Network in mining or related industries
    • Licensure in geochemistry or engineering
    • Expertise in diverse mineral deposit types
    • Experience with mine pit lake studies and technical reports
    • Active participation in geochemistry societies

    This role may offer hybrid or remote work options, based in Barr's Calgary, Alberta, or Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, offices, depending on qualifications and company needs. Some work environments may involve physical challenges typical of industrial sites, with safety training provided.
