    Description

    Purpose:

    Reporting to the Manager, Recreation Programs, the Swim Instructor is responsible for providing safe and effective supervision of the pool and pool area during instructional times.

    education and enforcement of Regulatory and facility specific rules. perform contact, in water rescues, first aid and CPR. teach and evaluate candidates in the Learn to Swim and Lifesaving program. complete all administrative duties as required in relation to Regulation .

    Education:

    Successful completion of all York University required trainings, included but not limited to WHMIS, AODA and Health and Safety Training

    Required Qualifications:

    All swimming instructors must have the following certifications as per Regulation ) Current aquatic instructor award from recognized service provider (Lifesaving Society)2) Current Standard First Aid with CPR C from one of the following national partners Lifesaving Society, Red Cross and St.

    John Ambulance *Please note all qualifications must remain current throughout duration of employment

    Experience:

    Previous work experience may be considered.

    Skills:

    Demonstration of job related skills will be considered.
