    Description

    Position Overview

    Under the supervision of the Manager Health Services, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing services to patients. This includes independent nursing services, administering medical treatments, collaborating with the healthcare team, and participating in patient care coordination and discharge planning. Shows commitment to the vision and values of the region/unit.

    Experience

    • Recent experience in the clinical area may be required.

    Education

    • Graduate of a Licensed Practical Nursing Education program required.

    Certification/Licensure/Registration

    • Certification in IV Therapy and Medication Administration.
    • Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM).
    • CPR Training in line with Employer policy.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Knowledge of relevant standards, codes, and acts.
    • Effective communication skills.
    • Preference for Indigenous language knowledge.
    • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to prioritize and delegate care.
    • Adaptability to changing situations.
    • Proficiency in using computers and software.

    Physical Requirements

    • Moderate to heavy physical effort and rotating shifts may be required.
    • The Employer may consider applicants not fully meeting the qualifications if no suitable candidates apply.
