    We are looking for a driven Controller to join our Finance & Accounting team at the Akash Homes Head Office in Edmonton, Alberta.

    This team also focuses on operational excellence, optimizing systems, and building the forecasting models necessary for future business decisions.

    Work closely with the CFO to spearhead the transformation of finance and accounting operations in alignment with our company's rapid growth trajectory.

    Mentor and lead team members and help to grow the Accounting & Finance team to support organizational needs.
    Implement robust internal controls and verification processes to ensure accuracy and reliability of financial information.
    Oversee monthly reconciliations and manage supporting working papers for thoroughness and precision.
    Stay informed of financial practices, trends, and regulatory changes to adapt strategies accordingly.
    Maintain chart of accounts and internal control systems for compliance and transparency.
    Ensure compliance with income tax and regulatory rules, including GST.

    Proficiency in accounting software, especially QuickBooks and Sage combined with excellent knowledge of Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    A proven track record of building and optimizing finance and accounting departments in dynamic, high-growth environments. You thrive in energized, passionate entrepreneurial cultures that are focused on performance and embrace accountability.

    Self-Starter:
    You're a proactive self-starter who takes initiative and ownership of projects from inception to completion. You demonstrate discipline through planning and execution.

    Your proactive approach to identifying opportunities for growth and enhancement drives positive change and innovation, ensuring that the organization remains agile and competitive in a dynamic market landscape.
