    Description

    Intermediate System Administrator

    As an Intermediate System Administrator at Paladin Security, you will collaborate closely with the Senior Systems Administrator to support the technical design, planning, and implementation of various enterprise systems. Working with infrastructure systems spread across Canada and the United States, you will have a vital role in ensuring their smooth day-to-day operations. Additionally, you will be the key escalation point for Tier 2 support requests, aiding Paladin's service desk in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide operational support for the organization's information systems.
    • Deploy systems infrastructure and application upgrades.
    • Implement backup procedures for file or system restoration.
    • Track user requests and activities through a ticketing system.
    • Create and deliver user guides and training on various operating systems and applications, including Office 365.
    • Establish and conduct program maintenance according to company and vendor standards.
    • Ensure timely notification to users regarding maintenance needs and impacts on system availability.
    • Monitor, maintain, and address network systems monitoring/Out of Band issues.
    • Apply top security practices to all deployments.
    • Investigate cybersecurity alerts and take necessary actions for issue resolution.
    • Collaborate with the Help Desk to address escalated issues.
    • Engage with customers and staff at a technical level when required.
    • Stay updated and acquire new skills, emphasizing technologies that enhance areas of direct responsibility.
    • Perform other tasks as needed to fulfill operational requirements.

    This role may involve flexible hours to meet deliverables for other entities within the Paladin Group of Companies. It also entails participation in an on-call rotation.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Three years of experience in a System Administration role or operational team environment.
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience in a related field.
    • Current Microsoft MCSA, Nutanix NCA, A+, and Network+ certifications.
    • Demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills for technical issues.
    • Comprehensive understanding of command line, scripting, and automation.
    • Experience in configuring and maintaining critical network and server infrastructure.
    • Familiarity with Zero Trust Methodology principles and implementations.
    • Prior exposure to investigation and incident response.
    • Strong oral, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
    • Self-motivated and adept at following instructions.

    Technical Skills:

    Experience and proficiency in the following areas are essential for success in this role:

    • Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2003/2008/2012/2016/2022
    • Active Directory in Hybrid mode with Azure AD
    • Nutanix HCI
    • Veeam Backup
    • Microsoft Office 365 Cloud / Intune
    • Microsoft SQL Server administration
    • Microsoft System Center 2012 Configuration Manager
    • Amazon AWS EC2, VPC, and LightSail
    • MS Azure IaaS
    • Blackberry Enterprise Server

    Salary: $70,000 - $80,000
