    The Opportunity

    We are looking for an accomplished Fund Accountant to join our fund accounting team as part of our financial services business in Montreal.

As part of our Montreal team you will:

  • will be responsible for processing transactions and accounting entries for a portfolio of investment funds and the preparation of portfolios and cash reconciliations on a daily basis;
  • the preparation of Net Asset Value ("NAV") files for a portfolio of medium to high complexity investment funds;
  • liaison with investment managers, prime brokers and custodians in relation to trading activity, as required, for transaction processing and NAV preparation;
  • preparation of client compliance files;
  • maintenance of client database and performance of general administration functions relating to client funds;
  • assisting in the invoicing process and collection of receivables and liaison with auditors to provide required information and respond to audit queries.

    What You Bring

    In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following:

  • will have a university degree in accounting or finance;
  • a professional accounting qualification (CA, CGA, CMA or equivalent) would be an asset, together with 2-3 years' of relevant experience in financial services with a leading accountancy practice or financial institution;
  • US Onshore and Offshore fund accounting/administration experience is an asset;
  • key skills for this role are as follows: a sound working knowledge of all Windows applications; knowledge of fund accounting applications; experience of relationship management and client service; excellent time management, organizational, prioritization and communication skills, both verbal and written (fluent written and oral English).

    Nous recherchons un Comptable de fonds accompli pour se joindre à notre équipe de la Comptabilité de fonds au sein de notre activité de services financiers à Montréal.

En tant que membre de notre équipe de Montréal, vous devrez:

  • sera responsable du traitement des transactions et des écritures comptables pour un portefeuille de fonds de placement ainsi que de la préparation des portefeuilles et des rapprochements de l'encaisse au quotidien ;
  • de la préparation de fichiers de valeur de l'actif net pour un portefeuille de fonds d'investissement de complexité moyenne à élevée ;
  • de la liaison avec les gestionnaires de placements, les courtiers principaux et les dépositaires en rapport avec l'activité de négociation, au besoin, pour le traitement des transactions et la préparation de la valeur de l'actif net;
  • de la préparation des dossiers de conformité des clients ;
  • de la maintenance de la base de données clients et de l'exécution des fonctions d'administration générale relatives aux fonds des clients;
  • de participer au processus de facturation et de recouvrement des créances et de la liaison avec les auditeurs afin de fournir les informations requises et répondre aux questions d'audit.

    Votre contribution

    En plus d'une autonomie et de normes en matière d'éthique incontestablement élevées, le candidat idéal possédera les caractéristiques suivantes:

  • le candidat retenu aura un diplôme universitaire en comptabilité ou en finance ;
  • un titre professionnel en comptabilité ou en finance (CA, CGA, CMA ou équivalent) constituerait un atout avec deux à trois années d'expérience pertinente dans le secteur des services financiers auprès d'un grand cabinet comptable ou d'une institution financière ;
  • une expérience en comptabilité ou en administration de fonds aux États-Unis et hors frontière est un atout ;
  • les compétences clés pour ce rôle sont les suivantes : une bonne connaissance pratique de toutes les applications Windows, une connaissance des applications de comptabilité de fonds, une expérience de la gestion des relations et du service à la clientèle, d'excellentes aptitudes de gestion du temps, d'organisation, d'établissement des priorités et de communication, à la fois verbale et écrite (anglais parlé et écrit courant).
