In Agriculture, we provide comprehensive analytical services for soil, plant tissue, feed, fertilizer, and water. Services include production recommendations, remote sensing and precision agriculture capabilities. The company operates two laboratories serving clients throughout Canada, the US and Internationally.


The Business Development Representative is responsible for the development and implementation of local strategies to provide agronomic expertise and business value to clients and stakeholders.

This individual is responsible for achieving building strategic business relationships, formulating innovative business development strategies and for executing all sales and marketing strategies.


The company is currently seeking organized, results-driven, high-energy team member for the British Columbia / lower mainland market area with particular focus on the horticultural and cannabis production markets.

Reports to:
National Sales Manager


Work hours:
Minimum of 40 hours per week, Monday thru to Friday corresponding with Spring and Fall seasonal demands.

Responsibilities:


  • Develop and nurture existing and new business relationships in support of commercial opportunities;
  • Present and support company programs and services to new and existing prospects;
  • Provide timely response to resolve any customer issues to meet needs as outlined by the Customer Service team;
  • Maintain regular and timely communications with Senior Management via weekly report;
  • Deliver results in key business performance areas;
  • Coordinate company presence at all relevant trade and industry shows and events;
  • Execute on customer training programs to build competency in using company products and services

Required Skills:


  • Excels at making connections with business owners and key decision makers (network and build relationships);
  • Deadline and detailoriented;
  • Efficient in planning, organizing, and implementation of customer programs;
  • Proven ability to work independently in a remote situation and as a team member in a fastpaced environment;
  • Previous experience in an agricultural business setting preferred;
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Must possess a valid class G Driver's License with availability of transportation.

Qualifications:


  • University degree in Agriculture/Agronomy; Or University Degree in Natural Sciences/Diploma in Agriculture
  • CCA certification or progressing towards the designation;
  • Minimum 5 years industry experience in Agronomy/Technical sales
  • Willing and able to travel to trade shows and conferences (including setup & tear down booths/tents);
  • Willing to travel frequently throughout the province of British Columbia and Alberta, occasionally across Canada
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
