    Description
    We are seeking a talented Communications Coordinator to support communications, marketing and media relations.

    As part of a collaborative team, the communications coordinator plans, executes, and measures social media activities; provides communication support designed to highlight VCC's research and policy advocacy, as well as the work of our champions, collaboratives and stakeholders; develops fun, original, and engaging social media content and marketing campaigns; and seeks out opportunities to amplify our communications.


    Posting, content moderation and advertising on Facebook, X, Threads, Instagram, TikTok, Google and LinkedIn.
    Compiling, writing and editing newsletters, reports and an assortment of internal and external communications.
    Assisting with the coordination and production of podcasts and videos.
    Interpreting Google and social media analytics to measure the success of marketing efforts.
    Planning and coordination of events.

    Post-secondary education in communications, marketing, public relations, or journalism.
    A minimum of 2-4 years' work experience in a communications environment including demonstrated social media and marketing experience.
    Highly skilled in both written and verbal communication with a strong knowledge of CP Style.

    Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite, Prismic or similar web platforms, Mailchimp, Canva, Google Analytics and social media platforms.

    Experience building comprehensive and creative marketing and social media campaigns that reach a specified target audience.
    Experience and success in creating engaging and impactful social media content using graphics, memes and video.
    Previous content management system and website maintenance experience.
    Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Audition) would be considered an asset.
    Video, audio and photography editing skills.
    An interest in current affairs and a passion for poverty reduction in Calgary would be considered an asset.

    We also work to inform the development and implementation of public policy that improves the economic and social well-being of Albertans through the Social Policy Collaborative.

    This position is full-time salaried position with a salary range of $49,500-$59,000.
