    Description

    OVERVIEW

    Industry's leading accessories manufacturer is looking for an exceptionally creative product developer with a great sense of fashion, an individual with great attention to detail and ability to apply their design skills on product design creation and development for various accessories.

    THE OPPORTUNITY

    As a collaborator in the Design Department, you will be responsible for creating elevated collections for our growing retail channels. You will design a full seasonal accessories collection at a price point that allows you to work with the best factories to ensure your design intent is realized. With your valuable contribution to this role, you will belong to a fun, creative, business goal oriented team.

    THE JOB

    • role focuses on everything to do with Men's Accessories – soft goods & hard goods. Natural and Synthetic materials. Products include – belts, bags, knits, summer headwear, kits, home goods, wallets, travel accessories
    • for all aspects of development including research, trending, concept creation, concept design, sourcing
    • to recognize and accurately interpret trends into design
    • the transition of styles from design conception to production-ready sample
    • to create complex print ready artwork for printing using Illustrator and Photoshop

    Creation and execution of detailed spec package to send to overseas factories which include material information, sketches, print artwork

    Communicating with overseas factories at a regular basis to ensure proper development sample standards are met

    • have an understanding of price relation to product development and design
    • fluid collections with a mix of various accessories for various national brands and private label brands
    • closely with Brand houses and Licensors for brand direction and completion of collections
    • with China team to ensure all sourcing is within timeline
    • to domestic trade shows for market research and trending
    • to work under tight timelines and group environment

    Required experiences:

    • years experience in design and accessory construction
    • in Fashion Accessories or Home Goods is an asset
    • education in Fashion Design or Graphic Design
    • be considered an expert in Illustrator and Photoshop
    • Working Knowledge of Excel
    • to work in a team oriented environment
    • to multi-task
    • and time management skills required
