    TITLE:
    ANALYST,

    REGULATORY AFFAIRS AND COMPLIANCE

    PLEASE NOTE:

    This role is ideal for recent paralegal graduates looking for a full-time position, or those completing placement hours aiming to transition into a full-time position within the company.

    Not suitable for individuals from medical or pharmaceutical backgrounds.

    The Analyst, Regulatory Affairs and Compliance will report to the Manager, Regulatory Affairs and Audits with an indirect line to the Director, Regulatory Affairs and Compliance. The role involves supporting regulatory compliance filing, reporting, and auditing processes.

    REGULATORY REVIEWS & FILINGS:

    • Conduct research, review, prepare, and submit new license applications.
    • Maintain compliance policies, guidelines, procedures, and standards, offering guidance on regulatory requirements.
    • Review and update compliance-related training programs to ensure alignment with current regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure timely reporting and filings to regulatory and governmental agencies in line with licensing and legal requirements.
    • Monitor and report on market developments, regulatory applications, and proceedings. Carry out other compliance tasks as necessary.
    Support compliance risk initiatives across departments and promote a culture of compliance proactively.

    • Assist in compliance audits across operational departments to guarantee adherence to regulatory laws.
    • Provide clear and timely weekly and monthly compliance audit reports.
    • Collaborate with internal support groups to address compliance issues effectively.
    • Conduct ad-hoc audits as requested by the Manager of Regulatory Affairs and Audits.


    SALES CONTRACT AND LETTERS REVIEW:

    • Draft, review, and propose amended contract language and collateral based on regulatory changes for a designated region to ensure compliance with local and state laws.
    • Review and audit letter management procedures to ensure regulatory compliance across operations.
    Post-secondary education – certificate, diploma, or degree in law, law clerk, paralegal, business, regulatory affairs, or related field.

    • Minimum 3 years of experience in handling regulatory audits and/or compliance.
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook. Organized, detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously.

    • Knowledge of the retail energy sector is a plus.
