Job Description:

Our client, an esteemed investment firm based in downtown Toronto, seeks a Senior Accountant to join their dynamic team.

Job Responsibilities:

Manage the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, including associated notes, for various entities.
Compile financial information from partners for integration into investor statements.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Accounting, Audit, Tax:

Review general ledger accounts and bank reconciliations for accuracy.
Develop expertise in real estate accounting.
Coordinate annual audits and prepare relevant documentation.
Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance.

Treasury:

Review management and administration fee schedules.
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
Execute tax and intercompany payments.
Manage cash balance reporting and forecast investment cash requirements.
Prepare investor capital call and distribution proposals.

Special Projects, Communication & Other Responsibilities:

Analyze and propose improvements to accounting processes.
Mentor and develop junior staff.
Maintain communication with partners, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
Undertake ad-hoc tasks and support role expansion initiatives.

Desired Skill Set / Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Enrollment in or completion of the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) program preferred.
1-3 years of accounting experience.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
