    THE OPPORTUNITY – Camp Leader - Canada Summer Jobs

    This position will interact with children in various environments including the gym, pool, classroom, and outside, as well as on offsite trips.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • Document workplace incidents accurately and thoroughly as they occur and forward them to the supervisor immediately.
    • Collaborate with Camp Leaders to develop a diverse range of safe and enjoyable activities for all participants.
    • Be vigilant in recognizing situations where supervisory staff needs to be involved and promptly ask for additional support when required.
    • Familiarize yourself with medical concerns outlined by parents or guardians of participants and follow the appropriate protocols and procedures in case of an emergency.
    • Possess a comprehensive understanding of the summer camp program, and be prepared to address any concerns, questions, or comments from consumers.
    • Take responsibility for the supervision and operational readiness of the camp program ensuring doors are locked when leaving the area, maintaining cleanliness and tidiness, and ensuring all areas are safe and ready for use.

    WHAT YOU BRING

    We are looking to engage team members with diverse skills, experiences, and interests. These are some of the competencies and credentials we are looking for:

    • Caring, compassionate, and understanding persona
    • Strive to provide outstanding customer service to parents, children, and potential customers
    • Current Standard First Aid and CPR
    • Certificate in the Principles of Healthy Child Development.
    • Experience in leading programs and working with special needs populations is an asset.
    • Suitable for youth from years of age at the start of employment
    • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
    • Currently studying in a post-secondary program and/or related field
    • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation.
    • Demonstrate a high standard of professionalism aligned with Vecova values
    • Maintain a positive working relationship with all Vecova team members
    • Represent Vecova in a professional manner
    • Maintain confidentiality at all times
    • Demonstrate a high level of administration and IT capacity.
