    Description

    Vanderlande is the global market leader in baggage handling systems for airports and sorting systems for parcel and postal services.

    Vanderlande has recently built a large advanced automated warehouse for one of the largest retailers in the world in Canada.

    You will play a pivotal role in our support of this state-of-the-art warehouse. You will work closely with various teams to ensure efficient on-time preventive maintenance and swift troubleshooting when incidents arise.

    The ideal candidate for this position has a strong understanding of warehouse operations, is comfortable with high-tech systems and automation, and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

    Technician II will be relied upon for troubleshooting support for routine problems in the material handling system.
    Responsible for the maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical components such as: motors, motor-gearbox assemblies, rollers, bearings, shafts, sprockets
    Responsible for the maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical control components such as; Execution of preventive maintenance (both electrical and mechanical)
    Reporting of executed maintenance activities
    Analysis of system errors
    Reporting of problems and maintenance activities that need attention
    Attending to call outs, faults, alarms, and warnings and monitor system from the Control Room
    Compliance with all Vanderlande programs, policies, and procedures
    Experience of supporting automated systems with a proficient level of electro- mechanical skills
    Electrical fault-finding and fault-rectification skills, including the replacement and configuration of field devices (inverters, sensors, scanners etc.)
    Mechanical fault-finding and fault-rectification skills (gearboxes / bearings / sprockets / drives etc.)
    Experience with electrical schematics / wiring diagrams
    Skilled in the use of standard electrical test instruments
    Relevant vocational and / or technical qualifications

    Electrical License:
    Industrial Electrician Trade Certification or Certified Construction/Maintenance Electrician or "Red Seal" Industrial Millwright License is required

    Conveyor services or material handling services experience
    Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
    Ability to read diagrams, electrical drawings, operation manuals and manufacturers specifications
    Knowledge of use of hand tools, precision measuring and testing instruments
    Flexibility with time, able to shift priorities quickly based on staff and system needs
    Customer and service oriented
    Working knowledge of computers and equipment

    Full time position; While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sometimes exposed to the material handling systems, mechanical parts, and vibration.

    The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The Service Technician will encounter mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment.

    This is a full-time, nonexempt position, eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program.

    The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
    Salary range for this position is CAD$60,000 to CAD$68,000
