The Office of the Superintendent - Pension Commission administers and enforces The Pension Benefit Act (Act) and regulations, which set minimum standards for members' pension benefits, the funding of pension benefits, and the investing of plan assets.
The Act governs Manitoba's workplace registered pension plans run by employers, groups of employers or unions for their employees or members.
Conditions of Employment:

- Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Postsecondary education with emphasis in the area of business administration, economics, actuarial science or related discipline. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Experience in pension plan administrative matters for defined contribution or defined benefit pension plan.
- Ability to work independently and with mínimal supervision.
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to set and manage multiple priorities in tight timeframes and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information to a variety of stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster respectful working relationships with stakeholders.
Desired:
- Experience conducting investigations by way of research and analysis related to noncompliance and/or regulatory matters.
- Experience in benefit calculations for defined benefit pension plans.
- Experience in reviewing and analyzing documents for compliance with Acts and regulations.
- Knowledge of The Pension Benefits Act of Manitoba and Pension Benefits Regulation of Manitoba.
Duties:
- Under the direction of the Deputy Superintendent, the Pension Analyst acts for the Deputy Superintendent of Pensions in the daytoday administration of The Pension Benefits Act. The incumbent uses knowledge, judgement and expertise to monitor and intervene where necessary to ensure the plan's ongoing compliance with legislative standards, from initial registration to plan windup. The overall objective of the work is to help protect pension plan members from undue loss._
