    Headquartered in Ottawa, BTA Design serves the electronic design community in Canada and beyond. Specializing in ASIC and FPGA design and verification, and embedded software development services, we enhance our clients' teams and expedite complete designs.

    Adaptable and efficient, with a brilliant staff at our core, we strive to excel in our field.

    Our successful growth drives our current need for various technical resources, including a staff or principal ASIC Design Engineer. The role entails designing and implementing RTL logic (Verilog), conducting block-level simulation, synthesis, DFT insertion, and timing closure for a large ASIC with high-speed computational accelerators and third-party SoC IP blocks.

    Key Qualifications:

    The ideal candidate is a senior/staff/principal ASIC Design Engineer with the following:

    • Minimum of an undergraduate degree in EE or ECE.
    • 8+ years of relevant experience in increasingly senior positions.
    • Experience in modern ASIC development covering RTL logic design, synthesis, STA, lint, LEC, and understanding of PnR.
    • Familiarity with floating-point VPU, GPU shader hardware, or similar floating point ALUs.
    • Experience with embedded SRAM controllers, ARM/MIPS/RISC-V Architecture.
    • Knowledge of AMBA/APB/AXI and processor peripheral interfaces such as SPI, eMMC, GPIO, I2C, etc.
    • Integration experience with third-party PCIE controllers alongside Serdes.
    • Proficiency in managing complex asynchronous clock boundaries and high-speed serial interfaces.
    • Skillful use of Cadence tools.
    • Background in working within a lab environment, troubleshooting issues up to the system level.
    • Proven track record as a self-starter, team player, and leader.
