    Overall Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
  • Demonstrates awareness of health, safety & environment issues; takes action to ensure zero harm to all colleagues, customers, contractors and the environment.
  • Provide geotechnical engineering knowledge on projects and pursuits, including geological site reconnaissance, geotechnical site characterization, geotechnical analysis, laboratory analysis, geotechnical engineering design, geotechnical owner's engineering and geotechnical QA/QC inspection, testing and reporting.
  • Geotechnical engineering recommendations regarding, but not limited to, seismic analysis, soil mechanics, soil and rock engineering parameters, soil dynamic parameters and site development.
  • Prepare report and proposals, attend client meetings, and deliver client and industry facing project overviews and presentations.
  • Work as part of an integrated delivery team within our business, comprising of other engineering disciplines, professional environmental scientists, project delivery and project support staff on existing and new Advisian/Worley projects.
  • Travel as required for various field programs.
  • Dam Safety Review Experience an asset, including:
  • Assessing geotechnical information, undertaking instrumentation analysis, monthly reporting and answering technical queries;
  • Ability to understand construction plans and monitoring of construction progress, considering safety and ongoing stability of structures during construction;
  • Review design and as-built documents, and work activities and identify hazards and controls for dam safety in consultation with Technical Leads;
  • Value being part of a team working across the globe.

    Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution plus appropriate continuing education in geotechnical engineering, or equivalent.
  • A minimum of three years of related experience practicing geotechnical engineering.
  • Mining experience including dam safety evaluations, dam engineering design and analysis, and dam stability would be a preferred.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or working towards registration.
  • Experience with design software (e.g. GeoStudio (SLOPE/W, etc.), Rocscience, AllPile, and/or HEC-RAS, AutoCAD and ArcGIS software would be considered an asset
  • A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong work ethic, produces accurate and credible deliverables, meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions with input and review from supervisor;
  • Bilingual capability (English / Portuguese) would be an advantage
