    Position Summary: The Underwriting Assistant role within Hudson Healthcare is responsible for assisting the team in streamlining the underwriting process and providing market leading service to our clients.

    Key Responsibilities :

    Communication:

    • Responsible for renewal communications with brokers, identifying and clarifying any missing information.
    • Communicate with underwriters as to the status of the new file, manage any endorsements and mid-term adjustments.
    • Professional servicing to brokers in person, writing, email and via telephone.
    • Record and communicate to respective broker all Broker of Record changes.
    • Regular communication with Manager/Team re workload and priorities.
    • Interact with other teams, i.e. Claims, Finance, Compliance, Risk and other underwriting teams on matters affecting or related to accounts within the portfolio.
    • Logging of submissions.
    • Creation and maintenance of underwriting files.
    • Policy cancellation, extension or mid-term adjustment.
    • Manage bind orders and request policy numbers.
    • Create and issue policies.
    • Assist with preparing reports as required.
    • Other underwriting administration tasks as required.

    Service:

    • Provide pre-underwriting and rating support to Underwriters.
    • Proactively make suggestions and recommendations for process improvements.
    • Understand regional differences and works together with our team to meet the needs of our clients.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree required.
    • 1-3 years of professional lines insurance experience preferred.
