Sunshine Oilsands Ltd. is a Calgary based public corporation, listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange since May 1, 2012.

The Corporation is focused on the development of its significant holdings of oil sands and heavy oil leases in the Athabasca oil sands region.

The Corporation owns interests in oil sands and petroleum and natural gas leases in the Athabasca region of Alberta. The Corporation is currently focused on executing milestone undertakings in the West Ells project area. West Ells Phase 1 has an initial production target of 5,000 barrels per day.

The Opportunity:

Worksite:

West Ells is located within the Athabasca oil sands region, approximately 60km west of Fort McKay, Alberta. This position requires a 4 on 3 off rotation based on 12 hour work days.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Field Operations Manager/Steam Chief (or designate), the Heavy Equipment Operator will primarily be responsible for Grader equipment operation; and other duties including but not limited to:

Understand and follow Sunshine Oilsands Ltd. and supplier maintenance guidelines for each piece of equipment to achieve optimum efficiency;
Complete checklist sheets, routine equipment walk around assessment;
Lubrication of all moving parts;
Blowouts and steam cleaning as required;
Verify and top up liquid refills;
Ensure all equipment are fueled and ready for work;
Verify air filter status and address as required;
Considerable skills in the safe operation of heavy equipment;
Exhibit initiative and responsibility as well as understanding of the capabilities of the equipment;
Knowledge, skill and ability to operate equipment safely and able to avoid accidents;
Promote safety awareness;
Assist with special projects; and
Other duties as required.

Required Skills:

Minimum of 3 years of experience operating grader equipment;
Minimum of 5 years of industry related experience;
Mature, selfmotivated;
Strong analytical skills, capable of resolving problems independently;
Ability to work and contribute in a team environment;
Good verbal and written communication skills;
Possess a valid Class 5 driver's license (Driver's Abstract is required);
Knowledge and familiarity with Sunshine's values, business vision, practices, processes and systems; and
Must be legally permitted to work in Canada.
