    Description

    Position: SENIOR DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

    This role is crucial for contributing to and executing Greenfire's growth plans, optimizing SAGD wells in its portfolio. The position involves collaborating with various engineering disciplines to spot development prospects.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Reporting to the DIRECTOR RESERVOIR ENGINEERING
    • Well and asset development project activities, including forecasting, economic analysis, and regulatory support.
    • Deep diving into SAGD reservoir performance, managing asset depletion plans, and forecasts for sustainability.
    • Conducting research, analyzing data, and developing models for asset development.
    • Competitor analysis, engaging with other disciplines for project understanding, scope, and timelines.
    • Offering recommendations on best practices and industry trends while building relationships with stakeholders.
    • Collaborating on capital and budget planning, providing data for strategic asset optimization.
    • Working alongside geoscience and engineering teams for reserve evaluation.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Valid APEGA membership with a Professional Engineer designation
    • Minimum ten years of Development/Exploitation Engineering or project management experience supporting various disciplines.
    • Specific experience in the Canadian Oil and Gas industry, particularly in thermal oil sands operations.
    • Knowledge of completions, thermal operations, production, and wellbore hydraulics.
    • An economic background like an MBA or CFA would be advantageous.
    • Proficiency in Excel, Office365, and industry software like Geoscout and Exotherm.

    Experience:

    • Development/Exploitation Engineering: 10 years (mandatory)
    • Canadian Oil and Gas industry: 5 years (mandatory)

    Licence/Certification:

    • APEGA Membership with Professional Engineer Designation? (mandatory)
