Hydrologist/Water Resources Engineer (Vancouver)We are seeking a Water Resources Scientist to join our BC team (Vancouver preferred) to support projects across Canada, with a focus on British Columbia, and the North.
Palmer is a privately owned firm with offices in Vancouver, Toronto, Bracebridge, and Whitehorse, servicing clients throughout Canada.Palmer was founded in 2010 to provide project direction and technical scientific services to support the environmental assessment and permitting process associated with mining, energy, municipal infrastructure, and land development projects.

Compile, manage and analyze hydrology, hydraulic, and climate data
Field data collection, management, and organization
Prepare technical memorandums and reports
Project coordination
Provide training, mentorship, and supervision to junior and co-op staff
Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific or engineering discipline (e.g., physical geography, geology, water resources engineering)
~ 2+ years of relevant work experience in hydrology/water resources
~ Field experience in remote locations, including hydrometric and weather station installation, data logger programming, surveying and streamflow measurements
~ Knowledge of provincial and federal regulations and guidelines
~ Graduate degree
GIS experience
Proficiency with R, Python, or another applicable programming language
Demonstrated work experience in mining and hydropower sectors
Hydrogeology, geomorphology, ecology, and/or channel restoration experience
Project management experience
Swiftwater training, ATV/UTV/Argo Safe Operations certification
