    Your role

    The Resiliency team is responsible for supporting the IT, production, programming and corporate teams in developing, implementing and evaluating business continuity and disaster recovery plans for the entire Corporation. We make sure the plans and procedures are adequate and meet the Corporation's needs.

    You are responsible for assessing, planning, developing and deploying the Corporation's business continuity and disaster recovery plans. You assist in developing business continuity/disaster recovery strategic directions and support T&I's overall mandate as it relates to business continuity and IT recovery plans.

    You work collaboratively with management teams across CBC/Radio-Canada. The quality of the work, the value of the analysis and the repercussions of instructions and recommendations have a direct impact on the quality of contingency program planning.

    Responsibilities include the following:
    • Advise leaders in all business sectors responsible for business continuity and disaster recovery planning in order to prevent incidents and be ready to react effectively when an incident occurs.
    • Help develop the business continuity/disaster recovery strategic plan.
    • Recommend directions and priorities for business continuity/disaster recovery plans.
    • Help bring business continuity plans and IT recovery plans in line.
    • Play a coordinating role for CBC/Radio-Canada's Emergency Operations Team and support Incident Response Teams.
    • Support all departments across the organization in developing, evolving and testing their departmental plan.
    • Support teams in planning and executing continuity/recovery exercises.
    • Evolve continuity strategies designed to ensure the continuance of critical operations and resources that support business function recovery timelines.
    • Conduct/finalize impact analysis of business functions and interruptions.
    • Help with compliance audits.
    • Ensure the necessary collaboration to carry out projects associated with business continuity/disaster recovery plans.
    • Assist in the annual preparation of management, budget and performance monitoring objectives.
    • Advise the incident/emergency and crisis management teams as needed.
    • Perform all other duties related to your responsibilities.
    We are looking for a candidate with the following:
    • University degree or equivalent in a relevant field
    • Very good knowledge of contingency, business continuity and disaster recovery planning
    • 7 to 10 years' experience performing similar duties
    • Knowledge of the media industry an asset
    • Certification in a related field an asset (ex: MBCI, CBCP, ABCP)
    • Ability to communicate effectively in both official languages
    • Expertise in designing standards, procedures, policies and training programs
    • Ability to chair working groups, establish and negotiate workloads and schedules as well as deliver the expected results
    • Demonstrates the qualities of an influential leader, capable of ensuring collaboration among the various departments of CBC/Radio-Canada.
    • Able to deal with all CBC/Radio-Canada departments and advise them on decisions and directions to be taken.
    • Experienced in navigating the uncertainty and ambiguity of emergency and crisis situations.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Ability to solve complex problems
    • General knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada
    • May be called upon at any time to respond to emergencies and travel occasionally.
