    Why This Role Is Important

    The Director, Strategy & Planning for PC Financial and Services (PCF&S) will be responsible for leading the integrated strategy and ongoing planning process across PCF&S to ensure we deliver against key financial and strategic outcomes for the organization.

    What You'll Do

  • Lead annual short term and long-term planning process, including articulation of strategic pillars, programs, investment portfolio and financial outlook
  • Lead and execute Strategy projects, effectively working with key stakeholders to frame strategic questions, identify creative, impactful, and practical solutions supported by analysis, and lead teams through the execution of these strategies.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of category trends, insights and analysis that are shaping, disrupting or impacting the payments space
  • Partner with the businesses by building rapport with key stakeholders across Product, Technology, Digital, Communications and HR to work with them effectively and seamlessly on project delivery while acting as an advisor to them on important strategic questions and the annual planning and review cycle.
  • Lead development and execution of strategic materials required for quarterly PC Financial Board meeting
  • Proactively identify gaps to financial and strategic plan and lead development of action plans across all business stakeholders
  • Grow and manage a small team of 2-3 FTE by directing the work of team members while creating appropriate roles for them which align with their personal development goals. Invest in mentoring and coaching to provide opportunities for the team to continue to grow and develop.
  • Develop a detailed and strategic view of our consumers leveraging consumer insights – using internal resources and efforts and 3rd party research agencies
  • Work closely with Internal Communications teams to ensure strategy is understood by all levels of organization

    • What You Bring

  • Relevant experience in Strategy and Business Development, ideally at a consulting firm, or in Corporate Strategy/Corporate Development at a Canadian financial institution
  • Strong financial/business acumen applied to our core businesses, with prior experience in Financial Services considered an asset.
  • Project management abilities to structure work in executable pieces, support complex projects and lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative problem-solving skills to tackle complex projects and deal with unstructured problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective and trustful relationships in complex matrix organizations.
  • Willingness and ability to be flexible, self-directed, and organized.
  • Excellent communication skills to distill key message for senior audiences (including the C-suite and Boards) and effectively and confidently present findings, recommendations, and opinions.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in relevant field (, business, economics, finance) from a university.
