Description
Le français suit
Global Reach, Local Return
The Ottawa International Airport Authority (OIAA) was established in 1997 under the strategic oversight of a community-based Board of Directors, which is representative of its multi-stakeholder environment. The OIAA is part of a 26-airport National Airports System and is one of 8 Tier 1 airports in Canada. Building on teamwork and sustainability, OIAA safely connects people, moves goods, and creates economic prosperity for the National Capital Region. OIAA is currently the 6th largest airport in Canada, based on annual passenger numbers, with revenues over $146 million and is well positioned for continued success and growth. With a long-term Airport Master Plan, the Authority has set goals for future development to meet the demands of its community, travellers, and business partners. Based in the nation's capital, the OIAA operates in a dynamic and high visibility environment which offers a unique opportunity for senior aviation, public sector, and regulated industry leaders, as it is now looking to identify a new President and Chief Executive Officer.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the President and CEO must bring an innovation mindset and focus on community, economic development, and public service. They will bring unrelenting attention to safe, secure, efficient and customer focused daily operations. The President and CEO will be a transformative leader who can focus on the complexities of maintaining and building upon aviation industry partnerships to foster an environment for hub and international route development. They will possess the drive to achieve the OIAA's mission and vision while ensuring accountability to the public. The ability to relate constructively with the OIAA's stakeholders to engage support, partnerships, and ensure successful outcomes will be keys to success. Knowledge of the aviation industry will be an asset, and candidates who do not have this background should be prepared to learn about the complexities of the industry quickly, prior to the start of their mandate.
Known for your strategic acumen and commercial orientation, you are adept at working with Boards, government, business, and community leaders to build thriving partnerships. Qualifications for this position include a university education and substantive senior executive experience relevant to complex, multistakeholder, regulated enterprises. You have superior communication and inclusive team-building skills, and have demonstrated the ability to lead and inspire others to embrace and execute a shared vision, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment to drive strategic initiatives forward. The successful individual will be bilingual (English and French) at the intermediate level. Here is an opportunity to provide overall leadership and set a long-term strategic vision for the OIAA, ensuring its success now and in the future.
