    Please note this is a temporary part-time [0.2 FTE] position starting July, 2024 and ending September, 2025.

    The Position

    The Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the teaching, administration and maintenance of Athabasca University's suite of biopsychology and related courses under the Psychology program. Coordinator duties include supervising and monitoring the performance of course tutors (who teach and consult with students and mark their assignments), the handling of student issues as they are brought forward by students, tutors, or the institution (e.g. grade appeals, course credit challenges, academic misconduct cases, transfer credit requests), and service to the Centre for Social Sciences (e.g. attending meetings held by the Centre and by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences). Candidates will be responsible for coordinating the following courses:

    Psyc 302/402: Biological Psychology

    Psyc 333: Sensation and Perception

    Psyc 435: Abnormal Psychology

    Psyc 450: Drugs and Behaviour

    Psyc 451: Human Neuropsychology

    Qualifications:

    Athabasca University is hiring an academic coordinator with expertise in biological psychology. A minimum of a Master's degree in Psychology, or related discipline, is required; a PhD is preferred. Candidates should also have a demonstrated understanding in the areas of sensation and perception, experimental psychology, and/or cognitive sciences. Experience in distance learning and familiarity with digital teaching technologies would also be preferred assets.
