    Athabasca University's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is currently recruiting for the position ofAcademic Coordinator, Biological Psychology.

    Please note this is a temporary part-time[0.As a resident of the community of Athabasca, or elsewhere in Alberta, you can elect to workvirtually fromyour home or in our offices on our beautiful campus.

    The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is the largest Faculty in Athabasca University and offers a wide range of online courses and programs in the areas of education, humanities, interdisciplinary studies, and social sciences.

    The Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the teaching, administration and maintenance of Athabasca University's suite of biopsychology and related courses under the Psychology program.

    Coordinator duties include supervising and monitoring the performance of course tutors (who teach and consult with students and mark their assignments), the handling of student issues as they are brought forward by students, tutors, or the institution (e.g.

    grade appeals, course credit challenges, academic misconduct cases, transfer credit requests), and service to the Centre for Social Sciences (e.g.

    attending meetings held by the Centre and by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences). Biological Psychology
    Abnormal Psychology
    Athabasca University is hiring an academic coordinator with expertise in biological psychology. A minimum of a Master's degree in Psychology, or related discipline, is required; a PhD is preferred. Candidates should also have a demonstrated understanding in the areas of sensation and perception, experimental psychology, and/or cognitive sciences. Experience in distance learning and familiarity with digital teaching technologies would also be preferred assets.
