Description
Working in the Project Services group, this position will assist the Topsides Cost Controller in the execution and management of Vendor Services. Support will include: assisting in Cost Stewardship & Report development; maintaining files/logs/registers to monitor budget utilization, budget changes, purchase orders, incurred costs, invoices, and forecasts; assisting in identification of Forecast Changes; Purchase Order (PO) administration incl. requisition initiation; Incurred Cost valuation and Accrual Development; Change Management submissions/reviews/approvals; CTR/Timesheet approvals/tracking; Invoice Attest; Presentation material development.
In addition to the education/experience requirements, the ideal candidate will possess a cost analysis/management savey, a strong working knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint, be a strong communicator and team player, have an attention to detail, and possess a drive to learn and take ownership.
Responsibilities:
The Project Controls Cost Technician supports the Topsides Cost Controller for the Project, with focus on Vendor Services. Specific responsibilities include:
• Reporting – Support development of monthly and ad hoc Cost Reports/Forecasts.
• Stewardship – Maintain files/logs/registers to assist in the monitoring of budget utilization, budget changes, purchase orders, incurred costs, invoices, and forecasts; in accordance with Cost Accounts.
• Resource Profiling – Support the development of resource profiles in alignment with scheduled activities.
• Analysis – Assist in the analysis of contractor timesheet and cost data to assess cost against budget and forecast impacts.
• Incurred Cost Valuation – Assist assessment of incurred costs for various vendors considering hours at site and related expenses.
• Change Management – Support the Change Management Procedure in consultation with the Change Management Coordinator and Topsides Cost Controller.
• Key Interfaces – Execution of the above responsibilities require strong interfaces with Vendors, Cost Control, Planning, Estimating / Supply Chain Management, Project Management/Engineering, Construction management and Commissioning teams and other project disciplines as required.
• Meetings – Attend meetings with the Project / Construction Management Team, and contractors to support discussions related to the responsibilities above; Support development of presentations as needed.
• Maintain files/logs/registers to monitor budget utilization, budget changes, purchase orders, incurred costs, invoices, and forecasts; in accordance with Cost Accounts.
• Assist in identification of Forecast Changes.
• Support Incurred Cost valuation and Accrual Development.
• Change Management – support submissions, reviews, and approvals.
Qualifications Required
• Bachelor of Engineering or Business; P. Tech.
• 1 to 5 years' relevant experience.
• Experience working in a project environment would be an asset.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Excel and Power Point is a must).
• Communicates Effectively – Ability to clearly communicate with team members, contractors, and between site and office personnel is critical.
• Works Collaboratively – This position requires interfacing with multiple different teams, companies, and stakeholders.
