This posting is for one unionized contractual course-by-course appointment to teach one course as a Course Lecturer.

Course lecturer positions are governed by the Collective Agreement between McGill University and McGill Course Lecturers and Instructors Union (MCLIU)-CSN.

EDECNaskapi Language 2

Course Description:

The morphology and syntax analysis of Naskapi at a more advanced level, including the study of word generation conventions.

Importance will be placed on developing reading and writing skills.

Course Dates:
March - March 24, 2023

Schedule:
March 2, 3, 6, 13-17, 20-24, 9am-Noon

Location:
Kawawachikamach. Travel Required.

Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs):
Education- A Master's degree (in exceptional circumstances applicants without a Master's degree but with significant research or professional experience related to the course content may be considered)

Experience- Expert knowledge of course content as outlined in the course description.- Experience teaching in the Quebec elementary school system.- Knowledge of the Quebec Education program (QEP) and the curriculum of the partner giving the course in collaboration.- Familiarity with the 13 professional competencies specified in the Ministère de l'Éducation.- Previous successful experience teaching similar courses in Indigenous communities.- Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) to pre-service teachers an asset.- Experience as a teacher, administrator, or consultant in the partnering school board for which this course is being delivered.

Other Must be available to attend course coordination and planning meeting minimum of 2 weeks in advance of the course start date.
