    Job Type: Intern/Student (Fixed Term)

    Plains is a top-tier transportation and midstream provider, specialized in transportation, storage, processing, and marketing solutions for crude oil and natural gas liquids (NGLs). Additionally, Plains manages strategically located facilities for crude oil and NGL storage, separates NGL from natural gas, and fractionates NGL into LPG products like propane and butane.

    Plains' engineering internship roles are tailored to allow students to apply their academic knowledge and gain practical experience through engaging and challenging tasks. Internship opportunities are accessible in various engineering and operations divisions.

    These groups may involve:

    • Capital Maintenance Program

    Responsibilities:

    • Aid in maintaining the capital 10-year database. Review plan submissions, assist in project evaluations, and conduct risk assessments to ensure consistency across North American divisions.
    • Contribute to creating powerful presentations and managing the Power BI dashboard.
    • Assist in the risk ranking process for maintenance capital projects
    • Perform variance analysis on actual vs budget/plan expenditures
    • Develop an understanding of the processes and overall function of the assigned business group
    • Participate in internal and stakeholder meetings, where relevant
    • Support various ad hoc requests when needed

    Qualifications:

    • Must have completed a minimum of one year of undergraduate studies
    • Interns must commit to a 12-month work term commencing on September 3, 2024
    • Pursuing an undergraduate Engineering degree is a requirement
    • Previous work terms are advantageous
    • Formal and non-formal co-op students are eligible to apply
    • Willingness to relocate to Calgary for the duration of the work term
    • Capable of thriving in a dynamic environment while demonstrating strong analytical and organizational skills
    • Proven adaptability and flexibility amidst changing business conditions
    • Proficient in computer skills and communication
    • Candidates must provide satisfactory references and undergo a Criminal Background Check
