    The City of Port Colborne, located on the south coast of the scenic Niagara region, Niagara's Port of Call has found the perfect balance – successful industrial and commercial sectors, comfortable and scenic residential areas, white sand beaches, unique culinary choices, the world class Sugarloaf Marina, fishing, golfing, trails, shopping districts along the historic Welland Canal – truly a community that adds to the overall Niagara Experience.

    The Port Colborne Historical and Marine Museum is just a block away from the southern terminus of the Welland Ship Canal in the Niagara Region.

    We are looking for a Cultural Activities Leader to assist in researching, designing, installing and marketing a Free Art Library for the community.

    The position will work with the Friends of Roselawn Centre, as well as the Public Programmer to make art and art supplies available to the community free of charge.

    In addition, this position will assist with the Hands on Heritage workshop summer series that will focus on Folk Arts.

    This position will also be responsible for creating information flow between the Museum and the public/media when it concerns programming of Art Library and Hands on Heritage workshops.

    You have basic knowledge of computer systems including word processing and graphic design programs.

    This is a temporary position funded through Canada Summer Jobs, as such all requirements must be met to be eligible for this program.

    To be eligible, youth must:
    be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
    have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
    55 per hour, working 30 hours per week.
