    Description
    The Position
    is also responsible for providing leadership to the staff of the East of Thunder Bay Transportation Consortium and for maximizing efficiency of routing of the partner boards and for ensuring that transportation services are provided to eligible students, giving priority to safety and efficiency of operations


    Position Duties and Responsibilities:
    Act as the signing officer for the Consortium.

    Manage the overall financial functions of ETBTC including development, implementation and controlling of budgets, preparation of monthly allocation of costing to system partners.

    Act as the main liaison for all transportation system partners and purchasers of transportation services.

    Communication regarding bus stops and any other applicable information with parents Develop, implement and monitor transportation policies, guidelines and procedures, for all students, following the safety requirements of ETBTC.

    Act as lead on the negotiating team for school bus and other service contracts. Prepare/Review/oversee collected data and reports prior to submissions to the Ministry of Education. Regularly analyze system routing and make recommendations for consolidation of routes for increased efficiency and cost effectiveness. Prepare various reports for the Board of Directors. Attend, as required, respective Board, Consortium Committee and outside agency meetings.

    Implement, maintain and analyze the transportation routing system and any other relevant transportation software required for increased efficiency and cost effectiveness.

    Investigate and audit routes and stops to ensure compliance with contracts and policy Consult with system partners to facilitate information sharing and planning.

    Assist in resolving issues with parties involved in the shared transportation service. Other related duties as assigned.


    Qualifications:

    Post Secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration, or another related area as deemed suitable by the Consortium; Minimum three years workplace experience in the administration of transportation services or acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Demonstrated ability achieving results in a complex decision-making environment Possessing a valid driver's license and use of personal vehicle as required to travel across the service area.

    Demonstrated working knowledge with computers and computer software including databases, spread-sheets, word-processing and email. Working knowledge of student information systems software and the interaction of data between various applications Superior communications and interpersonal skills Demonstrated customer service focus to meet client needs Proven ability to provide strategic advice and contingency planning Excellent project management and analytical skills Demonstrated experience in the planning, design and implementation of multi-level communication plans, issue management Bilingualism in French and English would be an asset

    Working Conditions:

    Work in a pleasant office atmosphere with only light physical effort including routine walking, sitting or standingSome driving to operator sites and bus route auditsConstant visual concentration is necessaryHours of work will vary in accordance with Consortium requirements.
