- Plan, coordinate, develop, and consolidate CTC's annual GHG Footprint in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
- Analyze large volumes of complex data to develop CTC's annual GHG Footprint, provide data-driven insights, and identify trends and anomalies.
- Calculate and monitor sustainability and climate performance and strategy metrics, define KPIs and calculation methods. Communicate findings in a clear and compelling narrative to influence strategy.
- Maintain effective documentation and records management in accordance with corporate directives.
- Support the development of and help implement projects for CTC's decarbonization strategy.
- Monitor CTC's progress against sustainability/decarbonization strategy and targets.
- Support the decarbonization team to identify opportunities and develop business cases for decarbonization of operations and business models in support of the transition to a lower carbon economy.
- Act as sustainability/decarbonization subject matter expert to support and engage with various areas of CTC.
- Develop broad knowledge of operational business initiatives through close and regular engagement with business partners to deliver results.
- Recommend and lead continuous improvement efforts to improve completeness, accuracy, relevance, and timeliness of sustainability reporting.
- Keep informed of sustainability reporting and broader ESG industry trends and provide recommendations and insight to ensure stakeholders are represented.
- Support climate disclosure reporting to programs such as the CDP and SASB.
- On an annual basis, compile building energy and water consumption data and report to regulatory bodies across Canada, by reporting deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, sustainability, or accounting; P,Eng., CPA or equivalent an asset.
- 5 years of work experience in progressive analytical roles.
- Experience in GHG accounting quantification, verification, and reporting. GHG and/or carbon accounting certification is an asset.
- Detailed knowledge of climate change related issues, greenhouse gas emissions and science-based targets.
- Solid understanding of the GHG protocol, climate disclosure programs such as the CDP, ESG ratings, and sustainability frameworks (i.e. TCFD, ISSB, CSSB, GRI, SASB).
- Solid understanding of municipal and provincial regulatory frameworks and reporting requirements for energy and water consumption in buildings, such as Ontario EWRB, the City of Toronto's Energy and Water Reporting By-law, City of Montreal's By-law concerning GHG Disclosures and Ratings of Large Buildings.
- Experience with LCA databases and product carbon footprints.
- Demonstrated project management and organizational skills.
- Positive attitude, detailed oriented, curious nature, and a motivated self-starter with an ability to work independently and collaboratively in a rapidly changing environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of stakeholders up to and including executive level and experience building and maintaining strong working relations with internal and external stakeholders.

What you'll do
The Sustainability and Climate Change Measurement & Reporting team is responsible for quantifying and developing the environmental impact and footprint of CTC's value-chain, managing Climate Disclosure, including performance and progress against public commitments, and supporting the strategic development of future climate change and greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction targets from across all areas of the business.
As Canada and the rest of the world prepares for a lower-carbon economy, the Sustainability and Climate Change Measurement & Reporting team will ensure that CTC has the data and insights necessary to successfully transition. The Senior Analyst will play a key role in developing CTC's climate strategy, providing evidence-based recommendations and actionable business insights that have been distilled from large volumes of data. The role will be deeply involved in the preparation of CTC's GHG footprint and will report to the Manager, Sustainability and Climate Change Measurement & Reporting.
