    Description

    Senior Software Engineer

    Mimecast is in search of a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in cloud application development to join the Data Retention team in Canada. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of our journey as we shape the future of Mimecast products.

    Main Responsibilities

    As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll have a key role in creating solutions that are high-performing, reliable, secure, scalable, and resilient. Your duties will involve:

    • Designing and deploying scalable and dependable microservices on AWS infrastructure
    • Developing and managing detailed technical documentation for architecture and processes
    • Offering assistance during critical incidents and applying preventive actions
    • Tracking and evaluating AWS usage to suggest cost-saving strategies that maintain system performance
    • Engaging in Agile and Software development activities like backlog refinement, planning, and code reviews
    • Mentoring fellow engineers to promote collaboration, continuous learning, and professional development

    Key Requirements

    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team setting, mentor junior team members, and contribute to a positive team dynamic
    • Proven expertise in Java development, particularly Java 11 and above
    • Experience in creating and optimizing backend systems for large-scale data processing on AWS
    • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with essential AWS services like ALB, ECS, DynamoDB, S3, and more
    • Proficiency in both relational and NoSQL databases and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
    • Hands-on experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines, and familiarity with software security concepts
    • Comfort with Junit 5, Mocking frameworks, and Linux commands
    • Knowledge of Docker and Containerization would also be beneficial
