    Are you a hands-on, yet strategic finance professional looking for an opportunity to leverage your broad range of skills and experience in an impactful way? Atlantic Education International Inc (AEI) is expanding their team and is seeking a detail-oriented results driven individual to take on both a tactical and strategic role in the organization's financial planning and accounting operations while also overseeing it's marketing, and human resources functions.

AEI operates two business lines, namely:

    • New Brunswick Offshore Schools Program: This program oversees the establishment of school partnerships around the world where New Brunswick's Anglophone curriculum is taught, and its high school diploma awarded.
    • New Brunswick International Student Program: This program recruits and welcomes over 800 students from around the world every year who come to New Brunswick to live in our communities with host families and attend our middle and high schools.

    In 2022, AEI embarked on an exciting and ambitious three-year plan for sustainable and strategic growth across both of its business lines. Thus far, the priorities, actions, and strategies employed by the team have yielded significant results in the immediate and projections for more long-term growth opportunities, moving forward.

    As the successful candidate, the Director of Corporate Services will be responsible for establishing targets, developing budgets and performing financial analysis, all the while taking a hands-on role in the day-to-day accounting and financial functions of the organization. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with outstanding interpersonal and leadership abilities. Within the organization, your goal will be to guide AEI towards increased profitability and continued success.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    As part of the senior leadership team, the Director of Corporate Services will ensure financial accuracy and excellence, while providing effective leadership to the Finance, Human Resources and Marketing departments. The position will ensure that necessary financial reporting, processes and procedures are in place, effectively implemented and adhered to while providing strategic advice to seize revenue enhancing opportunities. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Finance and Accounting:

    • Oversee accounting functions, including financial reporting and analysis, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports related to the financial position of the organization
    • Manage and oversee AEI's payroll and benefits functions, ensuring accurate and timely payroll services in accordance with policies and procedures
    • Manage the financial planning and budget process to meet the needs of AEI's program areas, providing ongoing analysis and making corrections to estimates, as needed.
    • Oversee monthly banking and credit card account reconciliations
    • Prepare ad hoc reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data on current information and trends
    • Recognize patterns in the organization's spending and revenue and recommend solutions to any problem areas.
    • Evaluate, maintain, and make recommendations for enhancement of finance functions including accounting platforms and systems, policies and procedures, investment activities and internal control functions
    • Oversee risk management and legal activities; engaging with lawyers and ensuring that all functions are in compliance with appropriate regulations
    • Liaise with, and support auditors, including the preparation of consolidated year-end financial reports in order to ensure efficiency and accuracy during year-end processes
    • Implement, maintain and ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures and ensure compliance with financial laws and guidelines
    • Coordinate with external financial entities on behalf of the organization

    Marketing and Human Resources:

    • Provide leadership, oversight and direction to the Finance and Human Resources Support Officer and Social Media Content Creator regarding work allocation, professional development, and performance management to ensure the delivery of high-quality outcomes
    • Collaborate with AEI's external marketing agency and internal team to develop strategic marketing plans, implement marketing campaigns and oversee monthly marketing budgets
    • Provide input to critical Human Resources issues, participate in decision making, and oversee the development of Human Resources policies and procedures
    • Ensure overall compliance to organizational and governmental laws, policies and procedures
    • Undertakes special projects and performs other duties as assigned or as seen necessary for efficient operations of the corporate services department

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study/or experience. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in business administration or commerce, with a major in finance, accounting, or similar field
    • Minimum eight (8) years of progressive leadership experience in a related financial role
    • Possession of a recognized professional accounting or finance designation (CPA or CFA), or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Extensive experience in full-cycle financial reporting functions
    • Experience providing advice to management, including the recommendation of future initiatives and cost-saving strategies
    • Leadership experience, including recruitment, training and oversight, to a breadth of multidepartment positions, preferably in marketing, finance and human resources

    Knowledge:

    • Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial management principles
    • Knowledge and understanding of financial strategic planning and budgeting procedures
    • n-depth knowledge of accounting software, corporate principles, and financial analysis

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Excellent technology skills, including proficiency in various accounting and management systems, including Microsoft Office Suites; Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal abilities
    • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
    • Evidence of an analytical mind with good organizational abilities.
    • Ability to lead digital and process transformation
    • Excellent critical thinking and analysis abilities
    • Effective leadership and team management skills
    • Ability to build strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
    • Strong work ethic and personal drive for success
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

    Compensation will be commensurate of the successful candidate's level of education, knowledge and experience pertaining to the role, however, the salary range for this position is expected to be $116,532 - $128,258 annually, following the pay bands of the Government of New Brunswick.
