- Review/approve weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly payrolls and redirect payments.
- Review/approve third party remittance payments.
- SME for Payroll, HRIS and Oracle Time and Labor (OTL) functions, projects and processes within Canada.
- Work closely with internal and external key stakeholders to address, manage and resolve issues and queries efficiently and timely.
- Review internal processes: identifying, documenting, and implementing improvements and changes where needed.
- Support with payroll system implementation.
- Perform complete data transformation prior to migration to payroll system.
- Work with Project Manager and Payroll Manager on system upgrade and implementation and reporting requirements.
- End to End testing and review of system updates and configurations.
- Review internal processes and SOP's; identifying, documenting, and implementing improvements and changes where needed.
- Ensuring payroll system is up to date and in compliance with legislative and union requirements.
- Audit payroll reports for each payroll run to confirm accuracy.
- Reporting and reconciliation of payroll data.
- Prepare year end government tax documents (T4) and various year end payroll reports as requested.
- Respond to employee queries in a timely manner.
- Create custom reports and analysis to support various business units.
- Initiate and support process improvements within payroll to align with corporate strategies, working closely with internal stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned by the payroll Manager.
- Relevant years of extensive payroll experience.
- Comprehensive understanding and solid working knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and practices.
- Systems applicable - ADP GlobalView (SAP), Global Business Systems (GBS), PeopleLink, Ceridian Dayforce.
