- Complete various field programs throughout Canada and potentially North America to collect field data including but not limited to, wildlife surveys (e.g., amphibians, birds), land cover and habitat classification, vegetation surveys, fish and fish habitat surveys, and soil or water quality sampling.
- Prepare technical reports and memos related to environmental assessments on various sites, as required.
- Collaborate with and assist project managers and team members including biologists, ecologists, engineers, planners, and environmental scientists.
- Develop and implement mitigation measures and best management practices to minimize environmental impacts and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with other team leads to assess potential opportunities to provide services on existing projects considering biological project needs.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and prepare regulatory permit applications.
- Review project plans and specifications to identify potential conflicts with biological resources and propose alternative solutions.
- Lead field teams and coordinate with subcontractors to execute biological surveys and monitoring programs.
- Stay current with relevant regulations, guidelines, and emerging trends in both biological sciences and geotechnical engineering.
- Must be mobile and willing to work on a combination of field and office work, as travel will be required.
- Undergraduate or Master's degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience working in in an environmental consulting is preferred but industrial, regulatory, or academic setting will also be considered.
- Experience conducting biological surveys, habitat assessments, and impact analyses.
- Knowledge of relevant environmental regulations and permitting processes.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage budgets, and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in GIS, statistical analysis software, and other relevant tools.
- Professional certifications (e.g., Professional Biologist, Certified Wildlife Biologist) preferred but not required.
- Must hold a Valid G-Level Canadian Driver's License.

Position Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Biologist to join our Geotechnical Engineering team. The Project Biologist will play a key role in integrating biological expertise into geotechnical projects, ensuring environmental compliance, and mitigating potential impacts on ecosystems. This position requires a deep understanding of both biological sciences and geotechnical engineering principles, as well as strong project management skills.
