What you'll be doing:

Data analysis and reporting to support decision making across the organization

Analysis and preparation of financial statements and monthly departmental variance reports, including detailed salary analysis

Month end journals and account reconciliations

Provide exceptional customer service and accounting expertise to cross-functional areas

Assist with the year-end external audit process, preparation of relevant working papers, responding to audit queries and information requests

Continuous process improvement and work flow efficiencies across the finance department

Participate in system improvements and/or new system implementation

Support the annual budget process and all ancillary reporting

Accurate & timely Ministry reporting including quarterly MIS submissions, quarterly Ontario Health reports, ad hoc requests

Support senior management with special projects and other financial analysis as required

What we're looking for:

Two plus years of relevant accounting, data analysis and financial reporting experience, healthcare knowledge is an asset

Superior knowledge of Excel for advanced data manipulation and analysis

University degree or College diploma in a related field

Completion of, or working toward, an accounting designation is an asset

Experience with AS400 is considered an asset

Strong analytical skills and the ability to discuss observations of financial information with management at all levels

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions and implement the recommended course of action

Proven ability to work independently and as a team member
