We're looking for a Pathology Assistantto join our Histology team in Brampton, Ontario.You will be responsible for delivering in a timely manner the highest level of clinical and scientific quality to everyone we serve with a variety of testing using the latest technology.
Your contributions will make a difference- the anatomic pathology support services you deliver will greatly impact the downstream solutions and treatment critical to saving someone's life.
This is a permanent, full-time position working on afternoon shift - Monday to Friday, 1:00pm to 9:00pm.Maintain simple laboratory records and inventory for supplies and reagents
Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies by cleaning and maintaining quality assurance records
Participate in all quality assurance programs and ensures company and Ministry of Health guidelines are observed
Maintain knowledge of current policies and procedures in their assigned work area; Report to manager/senior the absence of or defect in any equipment, protective device or hazard of which the employee is aware and which may endanger oneself or another employee
Knowledge of Medical terminology and Gross Anatomy and dissection techniques
Graduate of an approved Laboratory Sciences program or equivalent
Bachelor of Science in Biology or equivalent education directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
Ability to multi- task and perform under pressure while ensuring the integrity of the test results in a fast paced environment
Medical laboratory environment
Possible exposure to chemicals, solvents and radioactive materials
