    Job Summary: Co-ordinates and maintain Launch/Manufacturing activities within our APQP process. Provide continuous Engineering support to Production.

    Required Education and Experience:

    • University education (undergraduate degree at minimum, graduate degree preferred) in manufacturing engineering and/or science OR Post-Secondary Education (Undergraduate Degree or Community College Diploma) in the one of the following:
      • Engineering
      • Manufacturing (Tooling)
    • 2-3 years' experience in manufacturing/tooling; program management experience; P.M.P. designation preferred
    • P.Eng designation preferred
    • MRP/ERP system build, implementation, and support experience (automotive industry preferred).
    • Comprehension of the English language
    • Excellent English communication and written
    • Excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail
    • Strong time management skills
    • Thorough understanding of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
    • Working knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, Solidworks, Catia, UG)

    Essential Functions:

    • Act as project lead within our APQP process
    • Developing and implementing process control techniques and procedures into manufacturing environments.
    • Analysing manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancement of quality, cost reduction and throughput.
    • Conferring with vendors in determining product specifications and arranging equipment, parts, material purchase, and evaluating products accordingly to quality standards and specifications.
    • Work with manufacturing department to develop, coordinate, and implement technical training for employees.
    • Assist and monitor all project goals.
    • Assist development and conduct project feasibility studies for designs and achieve key milestone dates.
    • Developing manufacturing processes for enhancements, product changes, and new products, and related fixtures and tooling that are consistent with zero defect level and low product cost.
    • Providing engineering support in production department to trouble shoot and resolve technical problems.
    • Recommend and prepare release documents for prototypes, new projects, pilots, engineering changes.
    • Requisition tooling, capital and try out material for projects.
    • Provide customer support on an as needed basis.
    • Follow up all facets of the project from die status to cell layout, launch and run at rate.
    • Assist in preparing Quotations.
    • Value analysis and value engineering ideas.

    • Monitor and assist suppliers on meeting project goals.
    • Asses and implement continuous improvement projects in relation to current or future project planning.
    • Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook.

    Work Environment:

    • Plant Floor 75%
    • Office 25%

    Physical Demands:

    • Walking, Standing, Sitting.
    • Constant communication with employees, peers, and management.
    • Overtime as required.

    Health and Safety:

    • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures.
    • Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company.
