    Company Overview:

    Our client, a global leading engineering and consulting firm with projects in over 80 locations worldwide, is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer.

    With a commitment to delivering outstanding results for clients, this firm tackles challenging projects across various industries.


    Location:

    Burlington, OntarioResponsabilities:

    • Develop cost-effective structural engineering designs from conceptual stages through detailed design, tendering, and construction, adhering to Canadian Codes and Standards.
    • Analyze and design steel structures and concrete foundations for industrial and mining projects.
    • Conduct site visits to inspect existing structures, perform evaluations and analyses for modifications and additions, and recommend reinforcement solutions.
    • Prepare specifications, design criteria, scopes of work, and material take-offs.
    • Complete tasks with minimal supervision, ensuring objectives for cost, quality, and timelines are achieved.
    • Supervise the work of designers and other engineers within the project team.
    • Collaborate directly with drafting staff to produce detailed drawing packages.
    • Liaise directly with client representatives and general contractors.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university (a Master's degree is advantageous). 10 years of experience in structural design for mining and industrial projects.
    • Deep understanding of designing various building structures and systems for industrial and mining applications.
    • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the Province of Ontario.
    • Skilled in designing steel structures, reinforced concrete structures, and heavy concrete foundations for buildings and equipment (experience in masonry and woodframed structural design is a plus).
    • Proficient in applying Canadian Codes and Standards (knowledge of US and International Codes and Standards is beneficial).
    • Proficient in using structural engineering design software such as STAAD Pro., MathCad, and Microsoft Office products (experience with AutoCAD, Navisworks, and SmartPlant is a plus).
    • Experienced in direct interactions with clients and contractors.
    • Capable of working independently, within a team, and as part of a multidisciplinary group.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
