- Manages the relationship with manufacturers to resolve parts shortages, damages and other issues that arise.
- Assesses company parts requirements through replenishment reports.
- Processes part returns to manufacturers and suppliers.
- Processes purchase orders through replenishment within authority.
- Produces relevant inventory reports.
- Monitors progress of parts replenishment and updates system with relevant tracking information.
- Assists with item maintenance, creates item numbers, updates pricing and descriptions.
- Updates purchase orders with ETA's.
- High school education required
- Formal education in purchasing, inventory management, or other relevant field required
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a directly related field
- Experience with a current ERP system an asset
- Current WHMIS certification required
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, follow instructions, and apply critical thinking skills
- Ability to work accurately with attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability and proficiency in MS Office suite of applications

A Day in the life:
The purchasing coordinator is an important part of the supply chain process. This individual contributes to the success of the organization by driving service excellence by working with manufacturers to reduce discrepancies in parts inventory, producing reports, and tracking parts, and does so accurately, quickly, and cost-effectively. This position has major impact on customers' satisfaction because it directly affects the speed and quality of service, both in terms of parts delivery to end users, and in contributing to the service technicians' first-time fix rates.
