    About the Opportunity
    Financial Reporting and Compliance:
    • Oversee the preparation of external financial statements for the group of companies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
    • Manage the external audit relationship, coordinating quarterly reviews and annual audits of financial statements within established timeframes.
    • Lead the preparation and delivery of materials for quarterly Audit Committee meetings and provide guidance on corporate financial matters and activities.
    • Deliver timely and accurate reporting to provincial contacts, investors, and creditors, meeting the unique requirements of each stakeholder.
    • Collaborate with the CFO to set accounting policy and financial statement disclosures.
    Financial Management, Planning & Analysis:
    • Oversee the annual budgeting process and in-year forecasting activities to measure actual performance versus expectations.
    • Produce monthly internal financial reporting packages and dashboards to support strategic decision-making and performance analysis.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement in business and financial accounting processes, reporting, and internal controls.
    • Ensure the presentation of meaningful financial information to senior management is accurate, understandable, and actionable.
    Cash Management and Treasury Support:
    • Assist the Treasury Department in managing operational cash flows, providing cash flow forecasts and guidance for interpretation.
    • Communicate changes in operations that could impact cash flow and support monitoring and negotiation of credit facilities and bond portfolios.
    • Optimize borrowing through effective management of credit facilities and participate in treasury management activities.
    Leadership and Team Management:
    • Lead and mentor a team of financial professionals, ensuring clarity of roles, fostering growth and development, and promoting employee engagement and retention.
    • Identify and action opportunities for employee development, recruit top talent, and uphold the company's values through exemplary leadership.
    Corporate Development Support:
    • Provide financial support and review business cases for projects and initiatives within the company's project portfolio.
    • Consult on purchase agreements for mergers and acquisitions, ensuring alignment with financial objectives.
    • Lead finance transition activities for acquisitions and divestitures to ensure successful operationalization of finance functions.
    Finance Systems Management:
    • Oversee the operation and continuous improvement of finance systems, ensuring security, access controls, process integrity, and user experience.
    • Coordinate with other parts of the organization to integrate finance systems and promote cooperation and efficiency.

    About You
    • CPA designation with experience working at a public accounting firm (external audit) in the past
    • 12+ years of post-designation experience in relevant finance and accounting roles with a progressive and proven track record of leadership and people management.
    • Experience in financial reporting and FP&A
    • Possess extensive knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and is able to apply principles to complex technical issues.
    • Previous experience in a mid-sized or large project based or software development organization preferred.
    • Proven leadership skills, with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
    • M&A experience and preparation of long-term financial forecasts an asset, as is experience in the transition and integration of newly acquired entities.
    • Some corporate tax knowledge is an asset.
    • Experience with Workday (ERP) considered a plus
    • Currently at the Senior Director or VP level and above

    Salary Range
    $200,000 to $220,000/year
