The Allied Health Services (AHS) team, under Professional Practice consists of Regulated Healthcare Professional including: Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, Social Work, Registered Dietitians, Respiratory Therapy, as well as unregulated Rehabilitation Assistants.

Each discipline is focused on driving evidence informed practice to promote high quality patient and family centered care.


The team has a professional practice leader (PPL) model for each regulated allied health discipline which promotes and enhances the interprofessional team.

Each discipline has their own PPL with dedicated time to enhance their communities of practice, represent their respective disciplines at committees, create policies & procedures and lead corporate level initiatives.


RVH is undergoing significant growth, including a capital plan that will see the current North Campus double in size over the next ten years, while developing the new South Campus in Innisfil.

We are currently seeking a
temporary part time (0.6FTE)
Rehabilitation Assistant until approximately December 2025.


Our part time RAs support care over 7 days and work 1 in 3 weekends, as well as short day shifts.

Additionally, part time staff have the ability to pick up shifts over and above their FTE complement.

  • Secondary School Diploma or Equivalent
    required:
  • Rehabilitation Assistant Program Diploma; dual trained OTA/PTA program certification

You will be a great fit for this position if you have:

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, focusing on patient centered care
  • OTA/PTA experience in acute hospital and ambulatory care settings
  • Knowledge of the use and purpose of therapeutic modalities for inpatient care settings
  • Understanding of proper exercise techniques
  • Safe and effective patient transfer techniques
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work successfully within an interprofessional team
