    Wood is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Designer in Edmonton, AB or Calgary, AB to join our busy and growing Oil & Gas Canada team due to growth in our business Please note this role will work our standard office hybrid work schedule.

    Our projects team has a long history of delivering some of the biggest and most complex projects in the Canadian oilsands, along with associated pipelines and refinery infrastructure.   • Assures compliance with Engineering Procedures and quality control standards
  • Interfacing with various engineering disciplines and suppliers.
  • Project Execution may include but not limited to:Specifying, selecting and sizing field instrumentation (Pres/Temp/Flow/Level), Control Valves, on/off valves, relief valves and control devicesDevelopment of DatasheetsPreparing various instrumentation lists and indexes Preparing and checking Instrument Loop diagrams as well as System cabinet design / wiringResponsible for performing squad check of vendor data and drawings from other disciplinesDesign, development, and technical content of the I&C portion of project workHave frequent contact with vendorsPlan, coordinate and prepare Material Requisitions, Technical Bid Evaluations and award recommendations for various equipment within instrumentation and controls.
  • Instrumentation Technologist from an accredited College.
  • Minimum of 5 + yrs. Industry experience
  • Understanding and familiarity of API, ASME, CSA and ISA codes and directives.
  • Experience in the oil and gas sector is preferred
  • Familiarity and experience with AutoCAD is an asset
  • Ability to problem-solve effectively
  • Has the ability to manage multiple ongoing projects
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in the use of Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI/Intools) is an asset.
  • Registration through ASET or APEGA is an asset.
