VG Meats is looking for a Production Manager in Simcoe, ON The Production Manager is the person directly responsible for overseeing the daily operations and develops strategies to ensure it meets production goals at minimal cost.
The Production Manager is also responsible for upholding a safe work environment for employees.Additionally, it is imperative that the Production Manager, as part of their fulfillment of positional duties and responsibilities, conducts themselves, and serves as an example for others, in accordance with the criteria established by the company, to be conducive to a work environment that promotes their desired culture.
The Production Manager shall demonstrate and promote the following qualities:# Transparent Communication

What you will do as the
Production Manager:
Work directly with department heads to coordinate production and distribution activities and ensure smooth daily operations
Train supervisors and administrators, give performance reviews, institute employee policies and procedures and motivate staff to meet or exceed production goals
Build and maintain a trusting relationship with employees and communicate about performance expectations
Test and monitor plant processes
Prepare and analyze production and performance reports; Participate in various activities related to safety, quality, productivity, innovation, information and data security, supply management, marketing, people management, and other delivery
Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping
Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
Stay up to date with latest production trends, best practices and technology
5 Major Categories of
Production Manager Duties:
"To efficiently and safely manage a team to produce high quality products, while minimizing waste, and constantly pursuing opportunities to reduce costs".
# Quality
# College diploma or degree in manufacturing/production management or a related field of study; and/or equivalent related work experience.
~ Computer literate and mechanically inclined
~5 + years previous management experience in a food manufacturing environment with proven leadership skills;
~ Effective leadership skills and motivational abilities, with a strong focus on plant and business processes
~ A clear and solid understanding of personnel policies, practices, procedures and other operational issues faced by the organization
~ A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution and people management skills
