    Job Description

    What to Expect in This Role?

    • Travel to different locations within the Waterloo Area to inspect automotive physical damage and perform appraisals
    • Complete appraisal and negotiate with repair shops on correct repair methods and pricing
    • Control repair facility expenses by promptly addressing any additional damage reported by the facility
    • Conduct remote appraisals and negotiate with third-party facilities
    • Review subrogation estimates for accurate repair methods and pricing
    • Collaborate with colleagues during busy periods
    • Process total loss claims efficiently
    • Conduct vehicle re-inspections as necessary
    • Participate in team meetings and performance reviews
    • Cover all Canadian regions within the remote estimating program and Image Capture
    • Prepare Autosource documents for total loss files and stolen vehicles
    • Offer technical expertise to adjusting staff when requested
    • Maintain expertise in car repair techniques, estimating software, and vehicle evaluations
    • Suggest new methods to enhance workflow for review by team leaders
    • Perform desk audits for compliance assurance
    • Address towing issues in collaboration with the towing team
    • Work with other appraisers to cover staffing shortages, vacations, or absences

    Requirements for the Role

    • Minimum of 4 years of direct experience in appraising/estimating automotive physical damages
    • Preference for candidates with a Certified Auto-Body Repairman License (class A or B/310B Journeyman OR Red Seal)
    • Proficiency with estimating software like Audatex-Qapter and Mitchell
    • Technical knowledge of auto body collision and mechanical repairs
    • College/university/technical degree is an asset
    • Good understanding of the collision industry
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Completion of I-Car and/or technical courses is an asset
    • Proficiency in Windows operating system and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
    • Positive attitude and team focus are essential
    • Clear and effective communication with all stakeholders
    • Valid Ontario Driver's License and clean driving record

    Posting Range: $55,800 - $102,800
