    Manager, Research Data Life-Cycle and Standardization
    Neuroinformatics

    This role provides coordinated support for CAMH Researchers through a 'hub-and-spoke' model to manage and deposit clinical-data according to institutional data management policies and plans, leveraging centralized research data infrastructure. This role acts as a central liaison to all research centres to support and coordinate data deposit and open science. This role will be responsible for providing supervision to a Research Data Management team including recruitment, performance management, identification and development of educational requirements for staff and providing leadership in team planning, development, implementation, and evaluation.

    Candidate will need to be flexible for scheduling, and hours will need to be adjusted as per project schedule and deliverables.

    Key Accountabilities

  • Manage a team of research data specialists to assist CAMH researchers with the coordination organization and standardization of research data.
  • Coordinating and maintaining data modality and asset inventories, within and across research programs
  • Collaborative development of digital research management SOPs supporting the secure on boarding, deposit and re-use of data.
  • Support the implementation of quality, meta-data, harmonization and pre-processing standards within and across research programs.
  • Alignment of data management activities across internal data service providers (Brain Health Imaging Centre, Biobank Facilities, etc.)
  • Support process and governance for BrainHealth Databank secondary data use, including, administrative controls, documentation, facilitation and tracking.
  • Developing training and supporting materials for CAMH researchers
  • Hands on work across: Initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and close of all of project related activities;
  • Managing stakeholders to ensure that there is agreement to scope, approach, deliverables and budget to achieve overall success of the project;
  • Utilizing the CAMH project management methodology to drive project standards, identifying risk and issues, adhering to a formal change process and executing activities that achieve the deliverables as stated in the Project Charters and Scope Statements
  • Providing leadership to and facilitate meaningful engagement of all stakeholders, including early identification and management of conflicting priorities
  • Build effective and collaborative relationships with Project Teams, the Research Programs/Centres, Executive Teams, other CAMH project teams with impacts on research data projects
  • Develop and review processes to ensure that internal controls are appropriate
  • Develop and deliver project presentations for various stakeholders both internal and external
  • Budget development and tracking for project and operational work
  • Track and report on program effectiveness and open science success metrics
  • Qualifications

  • A Master's Degree in a related field is an asset (Medical Informatics, Bioinformatics, Medical Sciences, etc.)
  • PMP certification is an asset
  • 5 years demonstrated progressive and relevant experience in Research Data Management – Databank/Lifecycle oversight in increasing complexity and scope
  • Demonstrated understanding of regulations, privacy legislation, and research governance of human participant research (ICH-GCP, TCPS2, Health Canada and FDA regulations)
  • Experience with research methodologies, data types and best-practices
  • Experience with large-scale data collection and multi-modal data integration.
  • Experience with data standards, data models, provenance, meta-data and data-reusability
  • Experience successfully managing inter-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience working with diverse clients and research stakeholders
  • Strong organization and planning skills required
  • Ability to find the best approach or solution to highly diverse challenges.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, conceptual and decision-making skills are required
  • Demonstrated flexibility and have the ability to adapt and manage changing priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be at asset.
  • Extensive experience in a healthcare environment in an asset
