- Lead the Operations to create Best-In-Class magnet wire operations using Lean/Six Sigma tools with focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost improvements.
- Implement manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports the company's strategic initiatives.
- Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas.
- Maintain individual skills keeping up to date with latest production and production management concepts.
- Assure that collective bargaining agreements and handbooks are effectively administered; partner with Human Resources to address grievances/complaints and create a positive, collaborative working relationship with all employees.
- Continually improve safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes.
- Encourage use of new techniques and focus on fact-based problem solving approaches
- Plan, organize and direct the manufacturing operations which ensure the most effective return on assets.
- Initiate plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.
- Establish, delegate and monitor group and individual accountabilities throughout to deal with any required problem solving initiatives and cost reduction objectives
- Manage spending against budget and in relation to changes in production volume. Understand the overall financial health of the plant and how to positively impact profit, margins, etc.
- Ensure attainment of business objectives and productions schedules while ensuring product standards that will exceed our customers' expectations.
- 5+ years experience in a leading role in a manufacturing environment
- Proven track record in delivering improved results year over year
- Microsoft Office experience
- Familiarity with ERP systems... QAD preferred
- Lean Manufacturing implementation
