Job Summary

The Learning and Development Specialist is accountable for ensuring the smooth daily operations of the Learning and Development function.

In addition, the Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for providing support to the Director, Learning & Development in the area of general administration.


What you will do:
Learning and Development

  • Provides coordination for learning and development programs, assisting with all program logistics (i.e. catering and booking of meeting rooms for training events)
  • Communicates with training program participants and external vendors on an ongoing basis
  • Administers all feedback surveys for workshops and compiles feedback summaries as needed
  • Provides monthly metrics on program completions and course evaluation and makes recommendations on program improvements
  • Maintains the quarterly L&D dashboard in Workday
  • Manages the Learning and Development calendar and inbox
  • Manages enrollment for LinkedIn Learning and creates new playlists
  • Manages the LMS in Workday
  • Research industry L&D trends and makes recommendations
  • Outreach and coordination of speaker series engagements
  • Manages invoices received from vendors
Employee Onboarding

  • Assists with creation of orientation packages
  • Responsible for coordinating the quarterly onboarding program for all regularfulltime new hires which includes, but not limited to reviewing processes/presentation/making recommendations and updating where required and logistics.
  • Supports the 90day onboarding process

What you bring:

  • 12 years' experience working in Human Resources or Learning and Development
  • Proven analytical ability, sound judgment, independent and creative thinking
  • Effective planning, multitasking and organizational skills
  • Experience handling matters of a confidential nature
  • Solid business acumen
  • Demonstrated good judgment and ability to work with a sense of urgency
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal and communication (verbal & written) skills
  • High level of enthusiasm and energy, responsiveness to external drivers and internal client issues
  • Demonstrated positive attitude and selfstarter
  • Work collaboratively as a team member within the HR department to promote HR best practice environment that encourages continuous improvement, innovation, and learning
  • Tact and diplomacy
